Keep from Stumbling

" I have said these things to you to keep you from stumbling. They will put you out of the houses of worship. Indeed, an hour is coming when those who will kill you, will think that by doing so they are offering worship to God. And they do this because they do not know the Father or me. But, I have said these things to you, so that when the hour comes, you may remember that I told you about them." (John 16:1-4)
"So, you have pain now; but I will see you again and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you. On that day, you will ask no questions of me. Truly I tell you, if you ask anything of the father in my name; it will be given to you."

but, I chose you

You did not choose me, but I chose you. And I appointed you to go and bear fruit, fruit that will last, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask him in my name. I am giving you these commands so that you may love one another. (John 15:17)
